Thermal Rain - Official Website

Welcome

Thermal Rain was formed in 1994 in Mankato, MN. Formed by former Dead Flower guitarist Ross, Wade and Sean. In 1997 the band went on to recruit former House of Blue Voodoo vocalist Matt and replace Wade and Sean with George and Darren.

The bands first release is called "Pain for Pennies". 9 songs written by Ross and Matt about varying topics. Including some very painful experiences. Which is why the band called the CD "Pain for Pennies". The CD isn't completely about painful memories. "King of Self Pity" was written about a guy that used to come to the band's practices. He was a complete drunk and used to irritate the hell out of them doing things like flipping the lights on and off as they practiced and a vast amount of other equally irritating feats. So much so, he now has a song written about him.

In 2006 Thermal Rain went through a third restaging. While writing the second CD, Ross had discovered a trio of musicians that were some of the best around and adapted them into Thermal Rain. Adding Jeff, Eric and Steven to the lineup.

Although the reformation has been together only for four years. It seem's like they have been together for decades.

In 2009 Thermal Rain released a special edition box set of their first release which sold out in a matter of days. The CD included never before released tracks including fan submitted live material. A special DVD of Thermal Rain practicing for the recording of "Pain for Pennies" as well as some songs they pay tribute to for their live shows. Some of these packages included some very exclusive surprises in the box. Including drum sticks, guitar and amplifier parts, and various things collected on the road.

In 2010 Thermal rain will release their second CD. Which is still yet to be named.

The song "Alright Tonight" for the new CD was written by Ross for his girlfriend Ann.
